Hey Checkyourlogs Fans,

Something a bit different to talk about today. I was recently in Las Vegas, NV for the NetApp Insight conference and I learned about this new transportation technology called the Hyperloop. It is being championed by Tesla Motors CEO Elon Musk and has already begun testing in North Las Vegas. It promises to move people, cargo, and other items with amazing efficiency and solar powered. In chatting with some locals in Las Vegas they mentioned that there are over 600 cities around the world wanting Mr. Musk to pick them as a test bed.

Imagine how it would change the travel landscape in a place like Canada. Connecting Eastern Canada to Western Canada with environmentally friendly travel for both cargo and humans. I know that I am personally very interested in this technology and will be keeping a close eye on it. It has been released quite some time ago in October of 2015 and it is nice to see that active testing is actually happening today.

A look at what the Tube for the HyperLoop might look like.

According to the http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-3585662/It-works-Elon-Musk-s-super-fast-Hyperloop-successfully-demonstrated-Las-Vegas.html

There is a long way to go before this goes into production and hits the goal of 750 Mph.

The first public test of the Hyperloop system went off without a hitch today in the Nevada desert.

The seconds-long, outdoor demonstration featured a sled of metal gliding across a 1,000 meter track.

The sled accelerated at 2.5G and reached a top speed of 116mph in two seconds before disappearing into a cloud against the desert landscape.

But engineers still have a long way to go before building the full-scale system envisioned by Elon Musk, that will eventually run at 700mph.

I thought this was really cool and wanted to share hope you enjoyed reading about it.
